A few weeks ago, we shared the story of LeVar Burton's crowd-funding efforts on KickStarter to resurrect the beloved public access show Reading Rainbow. At that time, the campaign had already exceeded its $1 million goal. But now, it's gone way beyond even that.
"Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high..." For many of us, those words kicked off our favorite program on public access TV. That catchy song was a gateway to a show that was always fun, entertaining, and educational. "Reading Rainbow" was a great show, no question. And now, host LeVar Burton is bringing it back!
Ho-boy, it sounds like things are going to get ugly between the Colorado teachers union and the government. The Colorado Education Association will file a lawsuit challenging the tenure law that was passed in 2010.
A new website that analyzes school performance in Colorado went public today called SchoolVIEW that allows parents (and anyone else) to see and compare the performance of Colorado schools and school districts.

Many elementary schools have special reading events planned over the next few days and on Friday, a new Dr. Seuss movie with the familiar voices Taylor Swift and Zac Efron in the animated flick, "The Lorax".

In an effort to accommodate students with varying levels of advancement and in reaction to state budgetary cuts, at least 30 states in the US now let elementary and high school students take all their courses online.
According to Evergreen Education Group, a consulting firm that works with online schools, an estimated 250,000 students nationwide are enrolled in full-time virtual schools, a 40 perc
