The Greeley City Council will hear a report at 5 p.m. today, June 12 regarding the current and possible impacts of the High Park Fire on Greeley’s water supply. The presentation will cover the challenges to Greeley’s water supply and the actions the City is currently taking and will take in the future to ensure that the community’s water resources are safe for residents and other water customers.

The Hewlett Fire northwest of Fort Collins has grown to approach Greeley’s Milton Seaman Reservoir.  The Forest Service has evacuated city buildings, including the home of the reservoir caretakers there. The Milton Seaman Reservoir provides water for the City of Greeley and there is potential for the water supply to be affected.
