There might be less mosquitoes in Greeley this summer! The City of Greeley is increasing it's mosquito control this year, to the tune of $50,000! In past years the city has only spent about $1,000 a season controlling the buzzing biters.  According to city officials, Greeley was spending far less on mosquito control in past years compared to surrounding cities and towns like Loveland, Windsor and Dacono.

“We owe it to our citizens to be more involved than with minimal efforts,” said Greeley City Council member John Gates at a Tuesday work session. “I think we’re behind the curve, and I would like to see us spend a little money to raise our level.”

So get ready Greeley, you should be looking forward to a summer with fewer mosquitos to slap.
