We all remember the air quality advisories that lasted for days as the fire raged on. But exactly how bad was the pollution during those four weeks? The answer made my lungs hurt all over again.

Larimer County Officials will be holding a special meeting for High Park and Woodland Heights fire survivors, who lost their home this Thursday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hearing Room, 1st floor, of the Larimer County Courthouse Offices Building at 200 West Oak St., Fort Collins.
You can still help make a difference in so many lives that have been affected by the High Park Fire. The hundreds of people that lost their homes are starting over and you can help by dropping off needed items at the Larimer County and Adventist Community Service Disaster Collection Center at Foothills Mall in Fort Collins.
What are they looking for and collecting? We have the latest list of items they need.
Consumer experts almost always say you should never have to pay for services upfront, it's a major red flag. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office has received reports of individuals seeking to charge High Park Fire victims fees of up to $700 to verify whether or not their structure were damaged by the fire. It is not known if these solicitors are offering legitimate building inspection services, or if they are attempting some type of fraud.

On Wednesday, I took a guided tour of the High Park Fire. As Poudre Fire Authority guided me along the fire's path of destruction and loss, it reminded me of how the Windsor Tornado traveled over four years ago, behaving in similar fashion when destroying some property, while leaving other property right next door untouched.
Today, I was escorted by the Air National Guard and Poudre Fire Authority inside the High Park Fire restricted zone. We drove into Poudre Canyon on Colorado Highway 14. We started our tour along CR29-C, just about 1 mile west of Ted's Place, off Highway 287 north of Fort Collins.
Finally there is a way you can help those affected by the High Park Fire west of Fort Collins. The High Park Fire Donations Collection Center has opened in the Foothills Fashion Mall in the space that used to be Mervyn’s.
