Do you remember where you were three-years-ago today? We will never forget. It was June 9, 2012 that the High Park Fire was started by lightning in the mountains west of Fort Collins.

A 62-year-old woman, Linda Steadman, lost her life in in the fire.

The High Park fire burned 87,284 acres or 136 square miles, making it the second-largest fire in Colorado history. It destroyed at least 259 homes.

The High Park Fire wasn't declared 100 percent contained until June 30, 2012.
