Have you ever gone to one of our county parks, pulled in to park and realized that you don't have the little bit of cash (or check) needed to legally enter?

Me too.

First of all, yearly passes are worth the cash. Buy them, and make a commitment to being in our beautiful natural areas more than 6 times in a year. Your body and mind will thank you for it, so it's money well spent.

But if you are just going up once to thrice per year, you don't have to worry about bringing cash or check.

They now have solar powered card stations that take your payment, lickety split, and as easy as pie.

It's great because there have been times when many of us have driven the 25 minutes to one of the nation's busiest trail system and realized that we didn't have any way to pay. We had our cards, yes, but no cash. Well, that's a thing of the past.
