City of Greeley Recreation Monitoring Greeley Air Quality Closely as High Park Fire Smoke Travels
As the smoke from the High Park Fire continues to travel, the City of Greeley is closely monitoring it’s air quality, especially for citizens and kids participating in outdoor recreation activities. Poor air quality could cause breathing difficulties in Greeley and Weld County, especially for people susceptible to respiratory conditions.
With potential concerns for compromised air quality from the fire, Greeley’s Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department staff is actively monitoring air quality in Greeley and will notify the public of any facility closures or program cancellations. The City will post recreation program updates at greeleygov.com.
At this time it is a personal choice if patrons want to participate, although Greeley provides several indoor facilities that customers can utilize as an alternative.
