FoCoMX Volunteers Chime in on Why They Volunteer [VIDEO]

There is very little mystery why great music happens in Fort Collins.

Fort Collins musicians play music because they love music. It really is that simple. However, if you ask why the scene in Fort Collins is so great, well, the answer goes a lot deeper.

It started with a group of people who realized that there was a lot of talent in this area, and that talent deserved support and recognition. When they did things to create that support and recognition, the local, regional and national scene reacted.

It's come in many forms. Some used their ambition to create FoCoMX, a now annual event that is on its seventh year. Others made sure their band would be around for the big weekend so that we really could fill every venue in Fort Collins with live music.

Still others bought tickets. That's one of the absolute BEST ways to support the festival.

However, none of it could be done without the volunteers. They check wristbands, run sound, MC and make sure everything that can be happening is happening. I met with a few of them at the volunteer meeting and asked them why they do it.
