Meals on Wheels is one of the better government charities I know of. Without the volunteers that serve these meals, many seniors may very well go hungry.

Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County has been around for 44 years believe it or not and I can't even imagine how many meals they have delivered to our local senior citizens.

Meals on Wheels works with all of the senior agencies and health care agencies in Weld County. We collaborate with health care providers and hospitals that refer patients who require dietary services from Meals on Wheels. Additionally, we work closely with the Weld County Food Bank for supplies which assist us in maintaining a reasonable and efficient cost for preparing our meals.

As a way of helping fund their noble effort, the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Evans #6624 (3501 State St.) will be hosting a St. Patrick's Day breakfast on Tuesday, March 17 for Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day so it would be more than awesome if you would stop by to grab a bite and be a part of the solution in helping feed our elderly.

Another fundraiser they do is a beer tasting event in June so you can have some frothy fun and raise money for a great cause. Get all the details by clicking here.
