There’s No Shortcut To Greatness
Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers. (As a Vikings fan, saying those words does not come easy.) The NFL season is long, difficult, and trying. Training camp (usually) starts in July, but make no mistake, there aren’t any weeks off for a player, not one that wants to be great. Ending the run as Super Bowl Champions, and starting the next season 9-0 really says something about the team and the
Hard Times: Why Do You (Or Don’t You) Help?
Seems like more and more people are on street corners with cardboard signs asking for help and money. My first thought is that business must be good. My next (and likely correct) thought is that more people must need help and money. I know there are lots of reasons that a person ends up on a corner holding cardboard, and those reasons don’t really matter to me.

Broncos Host NY Jets Tonight
The Denver Broncos (4-5) host the New York Jets (5-4) tonight at Sports Authority Field at Mile High at 6:20pm on the NFL Network, and locally on The CW channel 2. the Broncos have won two in a row with Tim Tebow under center, and are just one game behind first-place Oakland in the AFC West race.
Take Control And Create The Life You Want
Victims want more luck. Victors want more hours in a day. Victims show up late because the roads were bad. Victors leave early to give themselves plenty of time to get there.Victims hope, want, and wish. Victors set goals, plan, and achieve. Victims have their days ruined by someone else. Victors make someone else’s day better.
Do Something That Scares You
On Saturday, a friend of mine called and asked if I would like to go skydiving with him this summer. I have never jumped out a perfectly good airplane before (or any airplane for that matter). I have always thought it would be fun to do a tandem jump; strapping on to somebody that knows what the heck they’re doing, but of course that’s not what he had in mind.
Are You Celebrating Enough?
The NFL has cracked down on celebrations in the end zone after touchdowns. If you ask me, we don’t celebrate enough. (At least in the non-football world.) We are very good at beating ourselves up when things go wrong. We need to make sure we are spiking the ball (or popping the cork) when things go great.
Are You Putting Up With Too Much Trouble?
On any given day there are a million things that make their way up and down our to-do lists. Busy, busy, busy. We are forced to find a balance between what needs to be done, and what’s important but can wait. We prioritize because we have to. The danger lies in leaving the wrong things on the to-do list for too long.
Broncos Win 17-10 At Kansas City
The Denver Broncos (4-5) were 17-10 winners this afternoon at Kansas City (4-5). Tim Tebow completed just two passes in eight attempts, but one was a 56-yard touchdown strike to Eric Decker in the fourth quarter to put the Broncos up for good. Denver hosts the Jets this Thursday night.
Good Or Great? Where Are You Aiming?
Why would anyone be satisfied with doing a job to anything less than the best of their ability? Why do some people consistently over achieve, while others consistently fall short? I think a large part of it is where they’re aiming their guns. If someone’s goal is to do what’s expected, then I think they’ll frequently come up short.
CSU Falls 18-15 To San Diego State
In what might end up being dubbed the 'Wind Bowl,' the CSU Rams (1-3, 3-6) fell to the San Diego State Aztecs (3-2, 6-3) this evening in Fort Collins in the midst of a High Wind Warning. The Rams now travel to Texas next Saturday to face TCU, who beat Boise State earlier today.
Are Your Words Doing More Harm Than Good?
In the book The Four Agreements by don Miguel Ruiz, one of the agreements is 'Be Impeccable with Your Word.' We have heard the saying, 'the pen is mightier than the sword.' Your word is powerful. It has the ability to build, and it also has the ability to tear down. What you say can have a monumental effect on someone without you even knowing it. Use that power with care.
