Weather conditions could improve a few fronts in the High Park Fire. Windier conditions and brewing storms may move some of the smoke cloud away, especially later this afternoon.

Plus, the increased humidity that is expected Friday and Saturday could aid firefighting efforts.

The High Park Fire is now at 46,820 acres with 10% containment.  There are now over 1,200 people working the fire.  Colorado-Wyoming National Guard are working the roadblocks under the direction of the Sheriff's office.  Top non-fire priorities today are home assessment and evacuation area evaluation.

Evacuations in the Shoreline Drive and Bellvue area from County Road 27E to the east have been lifted. Credentials (available at the evacuation center at the Ranch) are needed to access the area.

Fort Collins water quality has not yet been adversely affected by the fire.

Controlled burns may put more smoke in the air today as firefighters are burning some areas around the most active perimeters of the wildfire.
