Beavers are known for their incredible industriousness, and it can be incredible to see the affect that just a few of these creatures can have on a whole area. What I saw should be called a beaver dam complex because they had created about 5 large pools and a dozen or so smaller ones by blocking the snowmelt that was running through this valley in Keystone, CO. The pools they created seemed to eat away at the bank surrounding it, causing the live trees to start to lean over the water, and the older ones would finally just collapse into the water, giving the busy beavers more building material.
