Mother Nature was not kind over the weekend. She was deadly. A 52-year-old Nebraska man died Saturday from a lightning strike in Rocky Mountain National Park. Gregory Cardwell, from Scottsbluff, Nebraska was the second person to be killed in two days in separate lightning strikes in the park.

The lightning strike near the Rainbow Curve on Trail Ridge Road sent 12 people to the Estes Park Medical Center.

This comes just over 24 hours after a woman died from a lightning strike on the Ute Crossing Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park. The woman who died has been identified as Rebecca Teilhet of Yellow Springs, Ohio. Seven other people were injured.
