The time has come to decide what you will dress up as for Halloween this year. However, as fun as it is to pick out a costume for yourself, it's even more entertaining to find one for your pet to sport throughout the spirited season and to wear when greeting trick-or-treaters at the door.

While your pet might not be a huge fan of wearing a costume – my dog usually runs and hides under the bed as soon as he sees me pulling it out from the closet, it is definitely amusing and adds to the festiveness of Halloween. If you don't want to spend the money to purchase an outfit that your pet is only going to wear once during the year, you could always get a cute sweater or jacket that can be worn all throughout the colder months.

Don't leave your pooch out of the party! From noon to 1 p.m. on October 24, costumed canines are invited to participate in Bow Wowvania at The Farm at Lee Martinez Park. There will be some great photo ops as dogs walk a parade route through the Farm grounds. Dogs will actually get to trick-or-treat during the parade, and will all get a bag of treats to take home. It is $5 per dog, humans are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Farm.
