While many of us in Colorado are enjoying the unusually warm weather we have experienced for the most part this Winter, it's having an effect on Colorado ski areas as they get closer to the end of their seasons. The latest mountain to have to change their plans for the season due to the weather is Powderhorn Mountain Resort, which is located 20 miles east of Grand Junction.
According to today's Coloradoan, the U.S. Forest Service has approved plans by the Eldora Ski Resort to move forward with an aggressive expansion for the mountain resort located just west of Boulder. It marks the end of an effort that spans the past year to make improvements to the mountain so it can better compete with other mountain ski areas.
