The game of "business musical chairs" in downtown Fort Collins continues as another store closes, and yet another scoops up the vacant real estate left behind.

Silver Assets, which lies between Gelazzi and Killer Rabbit on College Ave. in Old Town, will close at the end of January to consolidate with another Silver Assets in New Mexico, according to the Coloradoan.  Then, Old Town Spice Shop will move into the College Ave. space, from its existing location on Linden Street.

Spice shop co-owner Sean Godbey said he's excited about the potential foot traffic at the new location, even though the new shop will be nearly 1,000 square feet smaller than the shop's current location.

Because of the size, Godbey said he will contract an off-site warehouse for future production. In the new “more traditional retail space,” everything will be pre-packaged. Popular items will be available in larger volumes of 4 ounces, 8 ounces and 1 pound, and anything not found in the store will be ready “by the next day from the warehouse.”
