Seattle Cops Give Doritos to Stoners

Colorado and Washington have legalized marijuana. It means so many things, it can be difficult to have a clear conversation about it.

One issue that was made a bit easier to handle is going to be Seattle's annual Hempfest. In the past, stoners took the stance "Well, they can't bust all of us", and a big smoke session would ensue, leaving cops helpless to ticket or arrest all of the stoney Seattlites.

This year, since it is legal, the cops are going have a sense of humor about it and hand out Doritos to the soon to be grateful ganjaheads.

According to msn.com:

Each bag will have a sticker with a friendly reminder of the limits of legal marijuana. The cops, man. Finding the one thing nobody can refuse. "Distributing salty snacks at a festival celebrating hemp, I think, is deliberately ironic enough that people will accept them in good humor," police spokesman Sergeant Sean Whitcomb said. "We want to make sure people learn the rules and that they respect the vote." The project is being funded by privately run Seattle Police Foundation.
