Rick Astley has been an icon in music for over 30 years, and after a long break, Rick is releasing new music.

Rick joined Alana on the show this morning to talk about his seemingly overnight success with his number one song and pop culture phenomenon, "Never Gonna Give You Up." You haven't lived until you've been "Rick Rolled," a term that is given to the Internet meme of an unexpected appearance from Rick's video for "Never Gonna Give You Up."

Rick has embraced the idea of "rickrolling" and even appeared on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade to "rickroll" the audience.

Rick's new music is uplifting, has a soulful, gospel feel to it. Rick says, "Lyrically I made this record in my studio at home, and I pleased myself completely; I played all the instruments and everything. So, therefore, I didn't even have a record deal when I did it. I did it because I wanted to do it."

The new album "50" is a journey as much as it is entertaining. Download Rick Astley's "50" from iTunes.
