Ted Williams was the homeless man discovered on the streets, panhandling, who had a golden voice. He became an overnight sensation, even Dr. Phil jumped in and got him into a rehab facility.

He had numerous radio and TV offers. (Read my original post on this here)

Now there's an update to the story.

TED WILLIAMS

In a story which has had more ups and downs than a Charlie Sheen Road Tour, Ted Williams, the rags to riches radio fairytale that faded nearly as quickly as it began, is back in the news. According to anythinghollywood.com, his hopes of a planned reality TV show, plus pending book deal, have both been put on hold until he completes a 90-day rehab at the Origins Recovery Center in South Texas. This was the center where he was originally sent by Dr. Phil and then bailed out of only a few weeks into the program back in January. Since then, he returned to LA and reportedly has been staying on track, but under close supervision. Reportedly, his manager says he's doing this in order to “get his strength back and that he also wants a solid foundation through the 12-step program provided at the center.

One can only wonder where this story will lead next, but being the optimists we are, this is one tale we'd like to see finally end on a happy note. Look for a follow-up either in 90 days, or if he leaves sooner.
