From The Coloradoan's "Fact Check" section, there has been poisoned food found in the backyards of the Fossil Lake Ranch neighborhood in Fort Collins. Tests were done on the foods and those tests confirmed that it was laced with rat poison. Thankfully, no animals were harmed in this situation.

Fort Collins police officer Dustin Weir told the Coloradoan that they responded to a report of suspicious meatballs in a backyard in the Fossil Lake Ranch neighborhood on June 9th. That case is still under investigation.

Kaylene Weingardt-marketing and community outreach manager with the Larimer Humane Society-told the Coloradoan that poisons like rat poison can take a while to have an effect on a dog, so it's important to keep an eye on things like appetite, impaired movement, seizures, and muscle tremors, just to name a few.

If you have any information on these incidents, please call the Larimer County Animal Control at 970-226-3647, extension 7. You can also call the Fort Collins police department at 970-221-6540.
