I like many people, resisted the conversion from the flip phone to the smart phone for a few years. I, also, like EVERY person, loved my smart phone after I got it and couldn't believe I had waited so long. And the stat of every person is legit. There is no one who liked their flip phone as much as their smart phone. No one.
When it comes to Colorado, there are a few apps that are just perfect for the advanced beauty, activity and enjoyment of the Colorful, Centennial State. Here are my top 5.

1. Instagram

There is something about this simple photo manipulation app that makes tweeting, posting and sharing that much more fun. It's as if every photo of the mountains we take could be a John Denver record cover. Older scenery, for some reason, looks better. Maybe it's the timelessness of it.

2. MapMyFitness

I may not be as active as I seem. Honestly, I go weeks without hiking, rock climbing, cycling, and it's mostly because I get plain old lazy. But iMapMyFitness motivates me. I love to track my workouts on the maps it creates and look at my loops around the river and reservoir. Makes me want to do it again!

3. AllTrails

AllTrails is a great resource, and I especially love it as a reminder of how lucky I am to live in Fort Collins. Open it up, allow it to use location and BAM! There are over 100 trails within an hour. Amazing. It can track your movement, but sometimes loses it because a lot of the places we hike don't have any service. Nothing wrong with that, in fact that's part of what it's all about. Great app!

4. On the Snow Ski Report

I know, it's summer. But that is my most visited app in the winter. Simple snow report comes out every day at 6am, and I usually checked it by 6:01. Look at the snow amount for Steamboat in the photo. Yes, it says 27 inches. And yes, I left right away from Fort Collins for Steamboat.

5. CO Cameras

This app shows you photos and video of traffic conditions on highways and byways all over the state. Especially handy for when it's time to head back down I 70 after a weekend in the mountains. It will let you know if the highway around Georgetown, Idaho Springs and Golden is a parking lot.
