Old Town Fort Collins Features Free Performances Every Weekend!!

Streetmosphere is kicking off this weekend and that means there will be a 'surprise around every corner'. Literally. Imagine yourself walking west on Mountain Ave. You hear something coming from Old Town Square, but you're not sure what it is. You turn the corner into the Square to raucous laughter,  and see a man who is balancing himself on a ladder while juggling knives. This is Streetmosphere, an effort created by Beet Street to enhance arts, artists and the overall cultural experience of Northern Colorado.

'Enhance' is' an understatement. There will be around 3,000 performances between now and autumn in Old Town, so keep in mind that along with the wonderful dining, dancing and shopping that Old Town has offered for over 25 years there will be world class entertainment on corners, in plazas, on the Old Town Square stage and strewn across the Downtown of our beautiful city.

At the heart of Streetmosphere is the idea of participation. The creative people of Northern Colorado participate. They have performance in their hearts, and they are ultimately what creates an incredible 'Streetmosphere'. The City of Fort Collins and Beet Street participate by inventing and developing these cultural opportunities. They recognized that the patrons of Old Town would be enamored by the idea of performers all over the place, so they held auditions and made it happen.

However, for all of this to come together, there is one final piece of the puzzle--you!! Streetmosphere needs you to participate! These performers want you to stop and stare at what they are doing. They want you to laugh at them, to sing along with them, to have them inspire you to do a dance. Participation will lead to inspiration, and living in an inspired city is all we can hope for.
