Old Town Fire Suspect Tied to Occupy Fort Collins Protester Benjamin David Gilmore – Kevin Mussman Interviewed Gilmore in October [VIDEO]
Fort Collins police have arrested 29-year-old Benjamin David Gilmore on charges of arson in the October 24, 2011 Old Town Fire that destroyed a condominium complex and businesses at 311 Mason Street. Benjamin David Gilmore is also tied to Occupy Fort Collins. On October 18, 2011, Kevin Mussman stopped by Occupy Fort Collins and spoke to a man by the name of Benjamin David Gilmore.
Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS), Poudre Fire Authority (PFA), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) investigators arrested 29 year-old Benjamin David Gilmore (D.O.B. 12/19/81) of Fort Collins last night in conjunction with the October 24 Mason Street fire. Investigators established probable cause and Gilmore was detained on a court order Thursday. He was later arrested and is under investigation for 1st degree Arson (F3), 2nd degree Burglary (F4), and Criminal Mischief (F3) and was transported to the Larimer County jail around midnight.
The fire broke out about 3:30 a.m. on October 24 at 311 Mason Street in a four-story structure that was under construction. The damage to the building is estimated at approximately $10 million.
