It was only a matter of time before neighboring states blamed Colorado, Washington and other states for legalizing Marijuana. This will be an interesting court battle.

The lawsuit, in a nutshell says:

Colorado has created a system that legalizes, promotes and facilitates distribution of marijuana,” Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning said in a media release. “The illegal products of this system are heavily trafficked into neighboring states, causing an unnecessary burden on the state of Nebraska. Colorado has undermined the United States Constitution, and I hope the U.S. Supreme Court will uphold our constitutional principles.

As I recall, voters voted and made it legal. No one held a gun to anyone's head and made them vote a certain way. Speaking of certain, I am quite certain that every state in the country would make it legal if it were put on a ballot.

Ridiculous!  I am reasonably sure that Nebraska and Oklahoma have their far share of pot smokers and it obviously had nothing to do with Colorado legalizing marijuana.

This will be a monumental case though because Federal law does supersede state law and even state constitutions. This may be a turning point where the scales are tipped and the Federal law will be changed regarding marijuana as a schedule 1 drug. Why is alcohol and tobacco not classified as a schedule 1 drug? Those are two of the most highly addictive drugs known to man while cocaine, opium, oxycodone, morphine, fentanyl etc are schedule 2.

One way or the other, the Federal Government will now be forced to take a stand and make up their minds and enter the 21st century.
