Northern Colorado business leaders heard what economists see in the year ahead for the region's economy on Thursday - and the news wasn't what some in the University of Northern Colorado's University Center Ballroom were expecting to hear.

"The recession is over in Colorado," said Mark Snead, regional economist and vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City - Denver Branch, at the annual Northern Colorado Business Report Economic Forecast luncheon. "Colorado and New Mexico hit bottom in June or July, and so we have had six months of job growth."
