Finally, some good news!  Several weeks ago, we learned that Mulligan's in Fort Collins had been shut down and seized by the state for unpaid taxes.  Now, an old owner has stepped up to resurrect the pub.

Mike Poppenwimer has taken control of Mulligan’s Pub back from the state, and from the couple to whom he had sold it. Poppenwimer, who also owns Sundance Steakhouse & Saloon, said he sold the restaurant to the couple with the hopes they’d be able to focus their full time and attention on it.

“They got a little overwhelmed and things just slowly fell apart,” he said Thursday.

Poppenwimer said the popular restaurant at 2439 S. College Ave. is reverting to its old menu, and received a thorough cleaning before re-opening.

Personally, I'm just happy this place is back; and all those employees have jobs again!
