Man Killed by a Semi on I-25 While Trying to Save his Dog
UPDATE 11.21.17: 39-year-old Jason Schaefer of Las Vegas has been identified as the man who died after chasing after a dog that ran onto I-25 in Fort Collins. Both he and his dog were hit and killed by a Walmart semi. Schaefer was thought to be from Tennessee because of his driver's license.

Last night a man was hit and killed by a semi on I-25 while trying to save his dog. Colorado State Patrol said around 5:30 a couple stopped on the side of I-25 near Fort Collins when the dog escaped the car. 9News Denver reports the couple pulled over near Harmony to have an argument when the dog jumped out.
The semi struck and killed both the 39-year-old man from Tennessee and his dog. The semi driver, a 69-year-old Pueblo man, was not injured.
The semi stayed at the scene and northbound I-25 was shut down at the Windsor exit for several hours.
