January is Radon Action Month [INTERVIEW]

January is Radon Action Month. The City of Fort Collins is making an effort to protect people from this naturally occurring  yet potentially dangerous gas.

Long periods of radon exposure is the leading cause of cancer in non-smokers and the second-leading cause of cancer in smokers. But take heart!  It’s very easy to test for this gas in your  home with a radon kit! The City of Fort Collins is making easy to use detection kits readily available for VERY cheap.

I interviewed Brian Woodruff, Environmental Planner for the City of Fort Collins and he told me that

Radon Action Month is aimed at getting people to test their homes for radon and become aware of how they can reduce the risks of radon gas if they find it.
