How to Waterproof Your Shoes

Okay, so I just stumbled across this trick, and I can't wait to see if it actually works!  I actually have a very personal interest in this one.  Read on...

When I was a teenager, I had a pair of Sketchers that I wore all the time.  They were my absolute favorite, and I never thought twice about wearing them everywhere, for every situation.

Well, unfortunately, I probably should have thought twice before I went river-tubing with my cousins one Summer.  But alas, I did; and my favorite shoes were waterlogged and ruined.

I tried to keep wearing them, despite my mom's insistence that they smelled terrible and were falling apart.  Finally, when I was 18, I spent a Summer in Spain; and I decided to retire my favorite shoes in Pamplona, upon finally witnessing the Running of the Bulls.  It seemed appropriate. :)

But I digress.

I wish I would have at least taken the time to waterproof those old shoes of mine, especially if it would have been as easy as covering them in beeswax!
