More good news for the local economy. The Northern Colorado Business Report is reporting a double digit increase in single-family home sales for January:

A total of 74 single-family homes were sold in the Loveland-Berthoud area in January, an increase of 29.8 percent over the 57 sold in the same month in 2010, according to data compiled by Loveland-based Information and Real Estate Service.

The median sales price for homes in the area during January was $240,000, up by 23.1 percent over the same month in 2010 when the median price was $195,000. The average days on the market was 130, down from 133 last year.

Home sales in January in Fort Collins were up 2 percent, from 101 in January 2010 to 103 in January 2011. The median sales price increased from $215,000 last year to $246,000 this year, as did the average days on the market, from 119 last year to 139 this year, the IRES report said.
