A man camping Roosevelt National Forest may have inadvertently started the Hewlett Gulch fire with his camp stove. The suspect was said to have tried to stamp out the fire, but fled as it quickly grew out of control. He is the one who called the fire in to authorities.

The man's lawyer, His lawyer, Joseph A. Gavaldon, spoke for him in an Associated Press Article.

Joseph A. Gavaldon, said that his client is praying with "hope that this gets under control."Weber "is most concerned about what's going on now," Gavaldon said, adding that Weber is focused on the well-being of the firefighters, residents and wildlife in the area.

The fire had grown to 12 square miles and caused brief evacuations. It was said to be at 45% containment on Friday night.
