Hewlett Fire Cost at $2.9 Million

The running total of the cost of the effort continues to rise and as of Sunday it was at $2.9 million. The man who started and reported the fire will be charged and is expected to face restitution.

Sunday night the report was that the Hewlett Fire was 87% contained. Highway 14 is reopened and firefighters expect to have the blaze contained within the next day or so.
