Houska Automotive has been a part of the fabric of Fort Collins for years.

They've made a difference in the way people's cars operate, because that's what they do.

Each year, they also take an old car, fix it up and give it to a deserving family in need. I was there to witness the event last year, and it was powerful.

In our world, without transportation, we can be helpless. Sure, there are plenty of ways to supplement having a car, but for many families, it is a necessary item.

Houska teams with Project Self Sufficiency to make a big difference in the life of local families.

Houska Automotive will be donating a Maroon 2002 Chrysler Sebring, valued at approximately $4,000, with a new set of tires to a Project Self-Sufficiency participant. The recipient is Karen Claybrook, a single mother of two children, Kaleb age 5 and Abby age 3.

The event will happen at the CSU Lagoon Summer Concert Series this week (July 1, 2015).
