A staple of Old Town Fort Collins is changing locations, and they've hit a bit of a snag in the planning process.

According to the Coloradoan, officials don't approve of the design concept for Beau Jo's new location, on the corner of North College and Laporte Avenues.

“I’m not sure the yellow and black fits in any way with downtown Fort Collins,” City Manager Darin Atteberry told Beau Jo’s representatives Thursday morning. “It feels more old western … it feels more like downtown Scottsdale (Ariz.) and not Fort Collins.”

Beau Jo's owners had requested over $61,000 in grant money for the design overhaul. Since being denied, they have agreed to go back to the drawing board.

The restaurant's new location, just a couple blocks North of where it is now, will double its available space.

Considering all the other neat things going in over there, I say it's a good move for Beau Jo's, even if they do have to re-tool the look of the building.
