Food Bank for Larimer County Needs 2,500 Frozen Turkeys
It just isn’t Thanksgiving without turkey.
Thousand of our neighbors here in Larimer County struggle with unemployment, lost wages, and the increase in the cost of living. Last month the Food Bank for Larimer County provided food to more than 13,500 families at-risk of hunger .
Frozen turkeys and hams are especially needed before Thanksgiving Day. All donations will be accepted through December 16 at the Food Bank for Larimer County, 1301 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins. Turkey donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm, on the north side of the building.
In addition to frozen turkeys, other non-perishable foods are also needed for holiday distribution at the Food Bank. These items include canned pie fillings, canned yams, cranberry sauce and stuffing mix. Find out more via Facebook here.
Coming up Tuesday, November 13 at 8am, it’s TURKEY ROUND-UP DAY! Poudre School District’s “Turkey Wranglers” will be bringing in their frozen turkey donations collected from schools in the district. Last year, PSD donated 1,500 turkeys to the Food Bank for Larimer County.
