Heavy rains over the weekend bring the possibility of flash floods, especially in areas burned by the recent High Park Fire and other wildfires across Colorado.

According to the Coloradoan,

more than 200 notices warned Poudre Canyon residents to prepare to evacuate in an instant — much as they were forced to do only weeks before when wildfire ravaged the hills they call home.

The monsoon season in Colorado could pass by without any dramatic weather events, but in the case of heavy storms that dump a lot of water in a short period of time in canyon and water runout areas, flash floods are possible and can be dangerous.

In case of flood, climb to safety.
