I've been documenting it since the beginning.

My garden is something that brings me great happiness. I love to plant and tend it for numerous reasons.

First, because I love how the whole process works. Starting as an inexpensive seed or a small plant, I put it in during the cliched 'season of rebirth'. It's fragile and really doesn't look like it could amount to much of anything. Then, slowly, I see it make microscopic gains. The seeds pop through the soil. The plant adds a few leaves here, a flower that will become a fruit there. Then, all of a sudden, beautiful fruits and veggies start to appear. At first, like the plant, they look like they'd never amount to much. But with proper weeding and watering, they amount to meals, nutrition and an amazing growth process fueled by the interaction of so many different special elements on our planet.

Second, it feels like experiential gratitude. Just taking part in the process makes me feel like I am giving thanks for a situation that, to our knowledge, only happens on good old planet Earth.

Third, one of my favorite things to do is to feel hunger, and walk outside and find the means for a meal right there. And it's not just a meal, it's a healthy, organic, non-GMO meal that comes from the work that I have done.

Finally, and I don't know why this is, but no vegetable has ever tasted better than the ones that come out of my garden. That is a fact. I'm unsure if it's because I did the work, and I'm tasting pride in what I've grown, or what, but you don't have to look far to find another gardener that will tell you the same thing about their garden.

Thanks for watching along as I grew some food this year. Here are the videos from 2015.
