Fern Lake Fire Approaching 800 Acres
The Fern Lake Fire in Rocky Mountain National Park continues to burn, and is currently estimated to be at 30% containment.
Inciweb reports the fire has been mapped at 792 acres, and grew by over 100 acres yesterday alone. No structures are currently threatened.
56 people are currently fighting the blaze. Steep, rough terrain is keeping firefighters from combating the fire to their full ability.
The fire is currently showing moderate burn activity, and is estimated to be at full containment by November 17th.

Fire investigators looking into the cause of the Fern Lake Fire are asking for help from the community. Investigators believe those who visited the park on October 9 may have information that can help determine both how and where the fire started. If you were in the vicinity of the Cub Lake Trail and/or the Fern Lake Trail any time before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9 you may have pertinent information.
