Fly Fishing Hall of Famer visits Ft Collins

Joe Butler, nicknamed “Big Trout Joe”, will headline the Rocky Mountain Flycasters April 20 meeting.. Butler has made the search for big fish his lifetime passion. His record brown trout was not surpassed for twenty years, and he still holds a Kokanee salmon record. He is the author of six books and has been the subject of over one hundred newspaper and magazine articles. Butler also hosts his own internet radio show. Over the years he has fished with and documented catches with many of the other great names in the fishing world.

Area fly fishers, and those interested in learning the sport, can hear Butler recount his quest for big fish at the Ft Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive, on Wednesday April 20. The meeting is free. Social hour and a fly tying demonstration begin at 6:30, with the program at 7 pm.
