I used to work at Toys 'R' Us.  Before the store moved to its current location in Front Range Village, it was located in the midtown area, off College and Bockman.  After sitting vacant for almost six years, another store is finally moving into that midtown space I remember so well.

According to the Coloradoan, Conn's Home Plus has leased the building at 120 Bockman Drive, as part of the national chain's expansion into Colorado.

Conn's Home Plus sells furniture, appliances, and electronics.

The old Toys 'R' Us building will be getting a $2.2 million upgrade before housing the new store.

Longtime Fort Collins developer Les Kaplan purchased the building last year for $2.3 million and submitted plans Tuesday for a building permit to begin exterior renovations.

Conn's Home Plus hopes to open before the end of the year.

Do you think this new store will do well amidst all the midtown renovations going on?
