Cinemark is tightening up on security for moviegoers, which means you will not be allowed to bring in something you may be used to having with you.

Well, this means sneaking in snacks just got harder, but that's not the reason why Cinemark has banned all large bags from its theaters.

As of February 22, any bags 12" x 12" x 6" or larger will not be permitted, according to 9NEWS (KUSA), and Cinemark says they reserve the right to search all bags smaller than that.

New moms, don't fret, there will still be some exceptions, including diaper bags.

Following the shooting in Aurora in 2012, Cinemark also tightened security measures by banning masks, face paint and fake weapons at movie showings, Times Record News reports.

Due to the number of recent threats and shootings in the U.S., Cinemark is implementing a nation-wide large bag ban, which includes Cinemark's movie bistro at the Foothills Mall, and the location on Timberline.
