Celine Dion Suffers Another Tragedy, as Her Brother Dies of Cancer

Two tragedies in one week, for Celine Dion.

Just the other day, Celine's husband Rene passed away after battling throat cancer.

Now, news that her brother, too, has passed.

You have to hate how things like this happen. Two losses within the same week. It’s hard to imagine how Celine is feeling. Rene Angellil, Celine’s husband passed away at the age of 73, after battling throat cancer; and news today (Saturday January 16, 2016) is that her brother Daniel Dion has also died of cancer.

Celine is one of 13 siblings. I didn’t know that. You’d have to assume that that those siblings are all now gathering to console one another, as best they can.

Unbelievably, Daniel had ALSO been battling throat cancer; along with brain and tongue cancer. Wow.

Daniel was 59. He leaves behind a wife, two daughters and two grandchildren. Celine is 47.
