Celebrities Major Contributors to Charity

Susan and I are lending whatever level of celebrity we have to Hope Lives! and their Celebrate Life in the Pink fundraising gala that is happening tonight at the Hilton Fort Collins. Bidders on silent auction items at the event tomorrow night that benefits the Lydia Dody Breast Cancer Support Center will be able to buy a lunch with Susan and I at Palomino Restaurant. I am DJ'ing the event, and it is one of the events that I donate services to because it is such a great organization. Susan is helping with Hearts and Horses tonight as well.

I have been working with the same great group of people on 4 different Townsquare Media stations for the last ten years. Every person who is on the air on our four radio stations helps with charity events or spearheads their own charity event. It is an amazing pleasure to be surrounded by people who consider this to be a part of their duty.

Celebrities across the world give back to their communities, countries and planets by lending their name, their cash and their effort to causes they support. Looktothestars.org tracks charitable efforts by celebrities and has released a list that has the biggest stars who give the most. While it's not surprising that Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Bill Clinton, and Bono rank high, the pick for number 1 did surprise me. Annie Lennox from the Eurythmics came in at the top. According to nola.com, Lennox supports 36 charities and has helped with over 200 events in the last 6 years.

While the celebrity of the myself and the people I work with is much smaller, and our contributions are as well, it is still an honor to help in any way we can the community members who are driven to raise money for charity.
