Catalytic Converter Theft Spree Along the Front Range Ends with Arrests
Do you know where your catalytic converter is? Two suspects have been arrested following a theft spree that affected hundreds of victims across the Front Range. Joshua Medley and Diedre Crawford have been arrested for their involvement in about 100 catalytic converter thefts between September and December 2016 in several jurisdictions. Thieves often target these components in order to harvest various metals for scrap resale.
During the four-month timeframe, 46 cases were reported to Fort Collins, Colorado State University, and Loveland Police Departments. Medley and Crawford were arrested on January 6, 2017, and charged with thefts committed in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Colorado Springs. Additional charges are pending.
