My wife and I have managed to scare ourselves silly many times watching horror movies. 30 Days of Night stayed with me for weeks. Insidious, regardless of the goofy looking demon character and seemingly staged 'nether' region, still left me looking over my shoulder in my own house. The more Paranormal Activity movies I see, the more frightening they become.

It's probably because I don't need to see it to believe it. I can believe it before I see it. I compare it to my faith in a deity I have never seen. While I have only had a minor brush with the paranormal, and of that one I'm not even sure, I'd sooner believe than disbelieve such things. The power of my own living soul feels so strong, that I would be surprised if some souls for some reason or another didn't end up sticking around.

And the main reason why they have the potential to scare me is because of all the ghost stories I have ever

heard, most of the spirits that seem to stick around seem to do so because of an unsettling incident. Even if they aren't the product of an unsettling incident, it seems that Earth was designed for humans, and there is another place that must be designed for spirits. So, if they are stuck here, even if they started out happy or stayed for some type of reason like love or fear of moving on, the fact that they didn't go to they are supposed to go to, sooner or later, that would probably start to wear on a soul.
