Welcome to Tarantula Mating Season in Colorado [VIDEO]

Tarantulas usually stay out of sight, however this is the time of year they head out to find a mate, to procreate before they die. According to WFAA News, Tarantula's are exiting their burrows across Southern Colorado in search of a mate. Male spiders this time of year are focused on finding a female to mate with, they are so focused on the search that it is common for them to stop eating. Starvation however is not the cause of death for the males. It's actually caused by the fangs of their female mate they fertilized.

Don't be to petrified, rarely do this spiders the can reach the size of a coffee mug very rarely make it all the way to Northern Colorado. But even if they do, as painful as it is, their bits venom is typically milder than a bee sting.
