WARNING: Your iPhone is NOT Waterproof!

If you have an iPhone, you've probably noticed a pretty big update take effect recently.  This is the new iOS 7 software, and it upgrades your iPhone in some pretty amazing ways.  HOWEVER...

...THIS UPDATE DOES NOT MAKE YOUR IPHONE WATERPROOF!

An announcement (seen below) has been circling the Internet for the past few days, claiming that the iOS 7 update makes your phone waterproof.

BUT IT'S A SCAM!

Actually, it's impossible to make a phone waterproof without upgrading the hardware (i.e. the actual electronic parts of the phone).  Simply upgrading the programs running on the phone has no effect on the hardware.

So, if you get this picture in an email or Facebook message, DELETE IT.  It's just a big lie!
