Summer farmers markets are perfect for conveniently picking up delicious fruits and veggies, but just because it's fall and soon to be winter, doesn't mean you have to stop stocking the fridge with fresh and local foods. This season, the Opera Galleria in Old Town will be playing host to over 40 vendors who are a part of the 2015-2016 Fort Collins Winter Farmers Market.

With opening day set for Saturday, November 14, community members are encouraged to stop by and shop for late season produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, sauces and salsas, and dozens of other food products – all extremely fresh and made right in Colorado. Besides all of the appetizing food items available for purchase, visitors can check out the many unique gifts and handmade goods, including jewelry and soap, crafted by artisans from around the area. Kids can get their faces painted and there will also be live, local music to provide entertainment and a fun atmosphere for everyone.

The whole community really benefits from the farmers market season being extended past the usual summer months. By offering a bountiful selection of fresh, affordable and nutritious foods, people are given the opportunity to continue to shop and eat locally. Plus, the venue allows for people of the community and farmers form direct relationships, where they can connect with, and also learn from each other. In addition to that, it's great for the local economy, not only providing more opportunities for farmers and creating demand for their original products, but also creating new jobs for those in the production, processing, distribution, retail and marketing sectors too.

The Winter Farmers Market will be happening from 9 to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Below is the complete season schedule:
