The Heat Is On campaign ran from November 17th though the 27th in the state of Colorado. The campaign was aimed to keep drivers safe on the roads from impaired drivers during the Thanksgiving holiday. During the DUI enforcement campaign, a total of 613 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence, up from 2016. Last year's numbers came to 522 during the same time frame.

According to CDOT's preliminary data, more than 190 people have died this year on the roads from impaired driving. Also up from 2016. The Heat Is On campaign resulted in 167 arrests right here in Northern Colorado for impaired driving.
