Gov. John Hickenlooper has suspended all Colorado prescribed burns in our state on Wednesday, after reviewing information from CSU, which oversees the Colorado State Forest Service. The Lower North Fork Fire burning south of Denver was determined to have been started by a prescribed burn that re-ignited days later has taken lives and destroyed homes.

Due to temperatures in the 90s, gusty winds, low humidity, and very dry conditions; the Rocky Mountain Area Coordination Center is forecasting 'High to Extreme Fire Danger' for Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming. Extreme conditions exist in the northeast Colorado plains, with high danger forecast for the Front Range.
